Aqua Trekking in the Great Canyon
After a walk through the woods, you reach the Verdon river 300m below.
The rando-aqua descent starts from the Estellié footbridge.
4 hours of swimming in canyoning verdon, embellished with jumps await you to discover this famous Grand Canyon.
On your back, feet forward, you swim letting yourself be carried by the current. You feel small, surrounded by 300m high cliffs.
The Rando-Aqua Verdon ends with the exploration of the Imbut, where the river disappears under this enormous bouldering chaos. Don’t forget to open your eyes!
Features
L’Estellié at l’Imbut is an aqua hike mainly swimming in the rapids, without rope technique. However, it has vertiginous aspects during the return walk (Vidal trail).
Specificities
The hike from Estellié to Imbut takes place on the Verdon. It is practicable outside the days of water releases, its conditions of practice also depend on the water levels (it is sometimes technical in early summer).
