A discovery of canyoning, an aquatic and fun descent, at the entrance of the Grand Canyon: you will follow the course of the Verdon at the foot of the vertiginous cliffs of the Couloir Samson in a majestic setting accessible to all…

AQUATIC CANYONS

A canyoning descent or “aquatic hike” (local name of canyon descent without the use of ropes) in the exceptional site of the Couloir Samson is spectacular.
The Verdon has dug a notch here in the 400m high limestone massif: vertical walls overhang the entire course of the Couloir Samson.
Jumps, rapids and swims adorn this route of the Grand Canyon and take us to the “Baume aux Pigeons”, an immense vault dug by the Verdon testifying to its strength in periods of flooding. This playful and very aquatic canyon allows you to discover all the beauty of the Gorges du Verdon.

Features

The Couloir Samson is an aquatic canyon that does not require the use of ropes (also called aquatic trekking): it is a perfect introduction to canyoning.

Water’s levels

The Couloir Samson canyon takes place on the Verdon river. This course is practicable outside the days of water releases, its conditions of practice also depend on the water levels (it is sometimes very aquatic in early summer).
